Browse venues across Sri Lanka. A Colombo ballroom for a long guest list, a Bentota beach for something barefoot, or a tea estate in the hills. All of them know what a Poruwa needs.
Five-star hotel ballrooms (Cinnamon Grand, Shangri-La, Taj Samudra) and boutique beach resorts are top choices, while heritage properties, garden venues, and hillside estates are increasingly popular for intimate Poruwa ceremonies.
Traditional Sri Lankan weddings often host 300–800+ guests, though intimate celebrations of 50–200 are increasingly common. Always choose a venue that comfortably accommodates your expected numbers.
Most flexible venues will accommodate a Poruwa setup, but confirm there is enough space for the structure, the Kapuwa (officiant), and guests to gather around. Indoor venues need adequate ceiling height; outdoor venues need a backup rain plan.
For popular dates (especially auspicious Nekath times) and the December–April peak season, book 12–18 months in advance. Off-peak dates can often be secured 6–9 months ahead.
Hotels usually cater in house. Villas, gardens and independent halls often let you bring your own. Confirm the policy before you book, and ask about corkage and outside food fees.
