The most practical route is by road, taking approximately 5 hours via the Southern Expressway. The more scenic option is driving to Kandy (3.5 hours) and then taking the world-famous Kandy–Ella train (6–7 hours) — widely considered one of the most beautiful rail journeys on earth. For wedding groups, private minibus transfers are the most efficient option, with the scenic train reserved as a guest experience rather than primary transport.
